Cast Iron Sauté Pan 28 cm Beechwood Handle with Glass Lid

Item nr: CVD28BG

Carl Victor Sauté Pan 28 cm with Beechwood Handle and Glass Lid – Classic Cast Iron Pan with modern visibility

The Carl Victor cast iron sauté pan with a heat-insulated beechwood handle and heat-resistant glass lid is a versatile classic that offers both capacity and control. With its generous 28 cm diameter and higher sides than a traditional frying pan, it’s ideal for larger quantities, saucy dishes, and slow cooking.

The heat-resistant glass lid allows you to easily monitor cooking without lifting it. It fits tightly, retains moisture and flavor, and ensures tender, juicy results.

The pan is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil at 400 °C and ready to use immediately. Over time, it develops a natural non-stick surface, completely free from chemicals such as PTFE and PFOA.

The beechwood handle is ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip and provides heat protection. The pan works on all types of heat sources – including induction, gas, glass-ceramic, open fire, and oven.

Like all Carl Victor cast iron products, it comes with a 25-year warranty – a testament to Swedish quality built to last for generations.

Properties of cast iron

Cast iron is a material with unique properties that make it invaluable in the kitchen. Carl Victor's cast iron pots provide even and stable heat distribution without overheating, making them perfect for stews, casseroles, soups, and oven baking. At the same time, the cast iron retains heat for a long time, which means that the food can be served directly from the pot without cooling down too quickly.

All Carl Victor pots are seasoned with vegetable oil at 400 °C and are thus ready to be used directly from the box. Over time – and with proper care – a natural non-stick effect develops, which makes cooking both smoother and healthier, completely without chemicals such as PTFE or PFOA. This is especially appreciated by professional chefs who value durable function over synthetic coatings.

The pot can be used on all types of heat sources, including induction, glass ceramic, gas, oven, and open fire. The sturdy cast iron construction retains its shape even at high heat and provides a cooking result that is both even and flavorful. Since the pots are made of recyclable iron and built to last, they are covered by a full 25-year cast iron warranty – a testament to the quality behind each product.

Carl Victor's cast iron products are designed in Sweden with strong ties to the factory town of Höganäs in Skåne. It is here that the founders Göran Ek and Robert Ek have managed and further developed a long tradition of knowledge and craftsmanship.

Care and Use

Before use, the pot should be heated slowly together with a little cooking fat – especially if it is used on a hob. When cooking in the oven, it does not need to be preheated, but can advantageously be greased internally before use.

After use, the pot should be washed by hand in hot water – without detergent – and dried thoroughly immediately afterwards. Light oiling with household paper helps to protect the surface and preserve its natural properties. The pot should always be stored dry and never left damp or washed in the machine, as this can lead to rust. Do not leave food in the pot after cooking is complete.

With proper care, your Carl Victor pot will not only perform better over time – it will become a faithful tool in the kitchen for generations.
